TN: 2012 Niepoort Redoma Branco Reserva Douro white

Post by Rune EG »

No decanting. Served fridge cold. Medium yellowgreen colour. Fresh fruity aroma of predominantly green apples, but also minerals. Medium to full body. Semi-dry in style. Fruity (apples) and some oak. Well structured. Very good balance acidity/sweetness. A rather “big” white wine. Medium length aftertaste. 92 pts.

I typically find this wine shows better when it is closer to room temp, especially the back end of the palate and the finish. Have you noticed similar with this wine? If so, do you think you'd score it higher if it wasn't so cold?

Thanks for the comments, Andy!
I will try with closer to room temperature next time and post a tasting note.
