Krohn Colheitas 2X 1966 and 2X 1968. Thanks to Dave for the heads up. I also saw that their current 1976 was bottled in 2013, more recent than the ones I already have, so I got a couple of those as well.

Maby so, But with All the tension going on in the world, Nobody knows if we are heading towards the 3. World war, and then It is a Big MUST to have a basic Niepoort stocking of old Tawnies.

So now I can face a major cricis and sitting it out for at least 1 Month, drinking 1-2 bottles of High quality Niepoort every day.
I have a spare bedroom, if anybody out there wants "sitting out" with me, let me know. [help.gif]

According to Google, you're about 3,600 miles from the origin of the Ebola zombie apocalypse. I'm about 6,300 miles away. I'll be in the cellar when they come. :winebath:

Ebola? I was thinking more in the possibility of a Mayor flood of St. Vrain River, and in that case, You will be the guy with a wet pair of underwear, and I will be on the High Horse....drinking my Niepoort.

No Eric, lets hope they both contain the Creek and the virus. Then we both will sit sipping beautiful Wine, and if not a goatcheesecake, Then accompagnied with some Nice sweet biscuits.

Have a nice weekend

The mail just delivered 15 bottles of assorted Vinho Do porto from Portugal and two old portuguese red Wine.
The Port is this time "every Day ports", But amongst three old Borges, my guess from the 60ies

I enjoy drinking old (40-50-60+ years old) non vintage/Colheitas.
An ordinary Tawny bottled in lets say 1970, is holding on surprisingly well!
I have only been disappointed once.

Interesting. From the old Selo pre early 1970's for sure. Are they old basic Ruby Ports?

Ruby or Tawny? My guess is its a Tawny. But Your guess is as good as mine.
I have had many "ordinary" old ports, from different porthouses.

And mostly they have this sweet and round taste like an old Colheita.
It is Allways a Big surprise when I open a bottle, never knowing what to expect...But Imagine, a Port just ment for drinking ( 40 or 50 years ago) has this High potential so long after.

And I get the bottles for a fraction of the Price of an ordinary Colheita.

Dont tell anybody, But the three Borges I bought for 7 euros a Bottle

Allan
I found the most recent Borges Coroa from 2014. The bottle and the label has changed over the past 40/50 years. It is stated as a Tawny
