1985 Kopke Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Tasted blind. Ruby color with some brown tint. This is more floral than the previous two wines tasted (1985 Rabello Valente and 1985 Krohn) with aromas of potpourri. There is also a lot of fruit in the aroma, including boysenberry jam, (not dried) apricot, and peach. This is really fruity in the mouth too. It is warm in the medium length finish. There are some tannins still, and along with the fruit this is really wonderful. There is also a hint of spice in the mouth, and it is really tangy. It is fairly sweet with a medium body. The finish is lengthening as I taste this some more. 93-94 points, and I’ll settle on 94.
