Darker than the 1948 Taylor tasted immediately prior, this is a darker garnet with light haze. There is some spirit in the aroma, but lots of grape jam and figs, along with some leather, and possibly some tar or graphite. This is really juicy in the mouth, tangy sweet, and thicker than medium bodied, but not too thick. There is decent acid and a hint of tannin. A great showing. 95 points.
I think I voted this as my Port of the day at the FTLOP 10th Anniversary second day. I had a few others also scored at 95.
