What is your greatest Port discovery so far in 2015?
With ten month of the year nearly in the rear view mirror, are there any specific bottles or producers or even visits to a NEW Port house that really stand out for you this year?

Can't say there are a favorite, but this year was my first at trying Pacheco port. Funny as that last name is like Smith back home on the Cape.

Having visited there a few weeks ago, I noted your spelling of fellow MA residents, but the Quinta is spelled PACHECA.

Everything this year has been a rediscovery of Port for us. I've spent an inordinate amount of time learning which vintages/shippers to look for as well as those to avoid. I would say the most imPortant source of information for me has been right here, so that would be a great discovery , FTLOP! As part of this education I discovered the 1994 Quinta do Crasto which I had never heard of before. While generally unavailable here in the US I was able to obtain 7 bottles for an amazing price at auction. Thanks much Roy and gang for all you do!

Had my first Vesuvio...a 1994. Wow! Just Wow! Have a few more so I really need many cellar defenders.
Any Port in a storm!

I think it will be several years before I even think about opening the two I have. 1994 is the vintage year I'm buying as many different ports as they come up for a good price. 8 different shippers so far, but still no Taylor's or Fonseca.John M. wrote:Had my first Vesuvio...a 1994. The only time I ever had V94 or any Vesuvio was on the FTLOP Harvest tour at Vesuvio. I have a footlocker of V94 (and like 3-4 other vintages), but never tried any of them. Everything is still in their outer cardboard boxes...Edward J wrote:I think it will be several years before I even think about opening the two I have.John M. wrote:Had my first Vesuvio...a 1994. Wow! I'll go with the Niepoort 1912 Colheita as well.
