2007 Yakima River Shiraz port-style fortified wine
This was at the Grocery Outlet in Bonney Lake Wa., for about $8. It was quite tannic, as I'd expect a Shiraz to be, which balanced whatever sweetness was there very well (ie, it didn't taste sweet in a notable way.) It was very well balanced. It was not complex or intense, but was very pleasant, and quite an alcoholic tang. There may have been a slight staleness. (It had a plastic cork.) It was better on the 3rd day--with maybe a blackberry hue. Wonder if leaving it open for several hours would accomplish the same thing. A nice port with no great defects or attributes, except the price.
