Very dark, maple syrup color with amber and gold-green highlights.
Aromas of salt caramel, christmas spices, walnut skins, dried dates with some savory umami. Barest hint of VA.
On the palate, unctous and sweet. Very rich. Tangerines, toasted nuts, and pralines.
Very long, sweet finish. More toasted nuts and pralines along with limes.
With some aeration, more citrus and brown sugar comes out in the flavors and finish.
96 points. Very impressive.

Hi Eric,
Of the 40+ people I've been around when a bottle of the "60" has been opened, you own the distinction of having given this wine the lowest score. That being said, your tasting note is great!
I believe the week-long aftertaste is worthy of another point or two.
Then again, you possess one slightly jaded palate. I am kidding ... but only slightly.![Newbie [imnewhere.gif]](./images/smilies/imnewhere.gif)

I'd been sampling from the bottle over the next few days after opening. I do think the extra air really helped. Maybe gaining another point.
And what'll I score the "100" when I open it!
After all, I "only" gave the 1863 Krohn a 99.Then again, you possess one slightly jaded palate. I am kidding ... but only slightly.
