Dow's 30 year old tawny port

Post by Rune EG »

Dow’s Quinta do Bomfim visitor center, Pinhao.

Bottle was open when served to us. Believe no decanting. Bottled 2015. Medium brown colour (transparent). Aroma is deep and powerful consisting of wood, orange/citrus and almonds. Full body. Powerful and elegant, a lot of citrus then nuts and herbs. Exciting taste. Some bitterness at the very end. 92 pts.

Thanks for the report. As I explore more Tawny's I've discovered that 10yo are still a bit too simple, 20yo hits the mark with excellent layers of complexity for a decent (yet rising) price. However the 30yo are what gets me going. If you can find them for a good price...
