Andy Velebil wrote:No clue on when it was released. There are some very nice Ports from this vintage, though VP/SQVP's from '86 are a bit tough to find. I'd suspect it should be getting near ready to start enjoying them.
(Edit: found some notes including my own. I wouldn't hold them too much longer. Drink sooner rather than later)
Thanks Andy
I've learned they were released at least 10 years ago. So I will put these on the "to open list" in the coming years . The only other 1986 I have had before is Taylor's Q de Vargellas (still have 3 of those), which was and is drinking quite nicely as well.
1 case of 2002 Taylor's Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Port. Because every father needs to put down a case for their children's birth year. We couldn't have picked a more difficult year, but Taylor will appreciate these some day and I do plan and we've discussed that I will only share one bottle with her at some point.
1x Sandeman 20 Year Old Tawny Port
2x Ferreira "Quinta do Porto" 10 Year Old Tawny Port
1x Ferreira "Duque de Braganca" 20 Year Old Tawny Port
1x Ramos Pinto 30 Year Old Tawny Port
1x 2003 Heitz Grignolino California Port
3 x 2000 Niepoort VP
2x 1994 Warres VP
1x 1977 Warres VP
2x 1970 Fonseca VP
*edit, as I was going to Napa to pick up my order, I checked Benchmark site as it is across the street from Winebid. What popped up was 2 bottles of Sandeman 40YO bottled 2013, $109. It's not real hard to find, but at that price I had to have it.
