1977 Croft Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Tasted blind. This has an off aroma, more than #6 (1977 Smith Woodhouse), tending to rotten, but not quite overpowering, yet. But don't swirl—that just makes it worse. Behind that is some raisin and prune, cola, and maybe tar. Smells like stale cola, and later like rotting flowers. The taste is worse. While there is some oxidized fruit, the off-putting flavor is there too. 86 points.
