TN: Quinta do Barao 30+ year old Carcavelos

Post by Eric Ifune »

From an old noble estate, apparently from an old cask.
Pale tawny color. A good amount of sediment in the bottle. Old Junta selo. Probably originally a red based on the sediment.
Smoky aromas with dried fruits. A bit reticent on the nose but seems to only need a bit more air. A little bottle stink.
On the palate, Meio Doce. Toast and dried apricots with preserved lemons. Long and intense. Obviously old wood aged. Very complex. 92+ points.
