TN: 2015 Julio B. Bástos Alicante Bouschet

Post by Eric Menchen »

(Old vines, aged 14 months in new French oak.)
Wonderful aroma! There is definitely some fruit there. In the mouth, black currant along with puckering tannins with tangy acid. The acid is more like lemon in this wine. There are also characteristics of fruit roll-up, tar, and leather. 94-95 points. I think the 2015 Gran Reserva is a better QPR, but which would you buy if you could only pick one. I went with this one.
