2002 Warre's LBV port

Post by Rune EG »

Seen from a vintage port view 2002 is regarded as a poor year. However, I have seen a couple of LBVs where the comments seem to be OK. I purchased this bottle last year at a wine shop in Porto (on the Ribeira-side).

Bottled 2006. Decanted 4.5 hrs, but waited to consume after 6 hrs decanting, which was perfect. Plenty of small sediments at decanting. Cork in perfect condition. Wonderful fruity aroma with oak and minerals in the background. The taste is so smooth and well-balanced acidity/sweetness, and also appear as well-structured. Medium length aftertaste. 93 pts.

100% agree with everything said here. Punches like a VP IMHO.
