Quinta do Bom Dia 30 Year Old Tawny

Post by Eric Menchen »

(Tasted blind. A brand by Vieira de Sousa. Bottled June, 2023.) Smells sweet and nutty, with brown sugar and some floral perfume. Swirling gives some spirit; and later there were aromas of cinnamon, red hot candy, and a small bit of mustiness. Also suggests a Jolly Rancher candy. The initial sip tastes 10-20 years old, with overwhelming butter. The second sip has toned down the butter. Medium bodied, with a little creaminess. There is a wood cellar character in the finish. Some nice acidity showed up later. Guessed to to be a late 1990s colheita. 90 points. (17 Nov 23)
