Bonham Skinner September Auction.

Post by Mike J. W. »

Just a heads up. I was looking at Bonham Skinner's Sep. Wine Auction (5th - 17th). They have a ton of Madeira up for auction. Port? Not so much.

Wow! And I thought that the price I paid for my 1 bottle was high, but that was just over half of what this one sold for!

Yeah I remember discussing the 1875 D'Oliveiras Malvasia Family Reserve with Roy back in the day. That was when it had reached $300 per bottle, which I (naively) thought was really expensive. He said he remembered buying it for $175!

By the time I got my act together and bought some, it was $840/bottle. And now it's $1500-ish.
