Quite tannic on opening that softened about an hour later. Young fruit is mixed with leather, a touch of V.A. (In a good way like with Chateau Musar), quite pronounced acidity, and pencil lead. If I had to compare, it’s a cross between an old world Bordeaux and old world Douro. Not your typical homogenized Douro wine. Rather one with considerable character. And quite good at that, if you like the style…which I do.

I have a couple of these in the basement, but not sure which year. They are different than regular Douro wines for sure.
