Hi Goncalo. Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you'll be able to provide a unique perspective as a grape producer. Is the 1963 Colheita one that your family produces or someone else's?Lopes Pinheiro wrote: ↑Thu Feb 19, 2026 7:29 am Hello everyone.
My name is Gonçalo Pinheiro.
I am 25 years old.
I am a grape producer in the Douro Valley (Baixo Corgo - Santa Marta de Penaguião) for Port and Douro DOC wine producers. My family has been making a living from selling grapes for several generations.
I am also a lawyer.
The most memorable Port wine I remember was a 1963 Colheita, which is still ageing in cask today.
I joined the forum because, as someone who enjoys Port, there’s no way not to enjoy talking about it.

Hi Gonçalo, welcome to FTLOP!
Does your family sell to many producers, or is it typically the same producer every year? (No need to name any producers if that's confidential!)

The 1963 Colheita was produced by a winery but aged at home.
Until 2023, we sold to two producers.
Starting in 2024, we began selling to only one.
Unfortunately, from 2024 onward, regardless of the quality of the grapes (even if it is very good), the producers started reducing the quantity of grapes they were able to purchase.
