Gentlemen,

All these dodgey White Ports requiring a humane slaying are beginning to develop the smell of a hot Summer afternoon, with the sizzling sound of a few slices of Cows Backside being unevenly cooked!
We could even suggest to the better halves that this is not really a Port tasting (although of course it would be  ), and that its to make them the centre of attention (Ha! ) and show our attentive Human and Caring side's.

Is anyone else beginning to see the embryonic start of a Drunken Bar-B-Que?

Alan,

Yeap! It is a great drink to start a BBQ off with, and one the ladies would enjoy.....wait, that can be bad, then they will start liking Port and want to drink our cellars....then again we could then make excuses to buy more 8)

Nah - not enough alcohol to burn - it'll go out

Take a half oil drum, screw up a newspaper, stack the drum as high as you can with old roofing batten, and then blaze the lot off for half an hour - you'll get a lovely bed of hot charcoal and ash to cook on.

Never use mineral oil to start a BBQ - it gets driven into the charcoal and then taints the food..

Tom,
Great tips, thanks.

Just don't do it like the 16 year old last night at work that set 8 trash can and 3 cars on fire in a one block area. He is now sitting in a jail cell, contemplating his stupid actions

I thought this was going to be a recipe for White Port.
I'm telling you - Port is from Portugal.
