10 year old tawny Port by Niepoort

Post by Andy Velebil »

This is one of my favorite 10 years, but in my quest to try different things, one I have not visited in a bit. Time to change that.

I again see why I love this little gem. The color is quite pale for a 10 year, and is closer to a 20 year, a nice pale redish orange with an ever slight hint of tan. That unique spice on the nose that is so Niepoort. Mellowed tannins, a touch of acidity on the back of the palate, carmel, a hint of mocha, spice, and a very very slight touch of heat that helps pull it all together into a long finish. I could drink this all night long...and may just do so :)

If your looking for a very solid 10 year tawny, this one will not disappoint.
