Churchill Crusted Port -- (unknown year of bottling)

Crusted port is a mix of 2 or three vintages, made in a vintage style. The wines has sediment and can be stored as a vintage, however it will develope and mature much faster usually.
This wine is good value, smells of sweet blackcurrant, prunes and other dried fruits.
Good concentration, good balance and structure. Slightly alcoholic finish, but overall a good value.
Can be stored for 5-10 years.

Thanks for the note and this topic. Here in the USA we see very very few Crusted Ports beyond Dow's. It is probably the least represented category of Ports, other than Garrafeira which is quite a bit more rarified. In the UK there is a considerably broader selection of Crusted Ports and even a Crusting Pipe. You can find some pretty old ones floating around from time to time in the UK, although I have only seen two "older" bottles of Crusted for sale (ever) on this side of the pond.

Yes, it is a shame there are not more on this side of the pond. I've only had a handfull, but have been happy with the QPR (Quality vs. Price).

We have only one Crusted port listed in Norway, I also would like to see more of this style.
