TN - 1995 Quinta de Roriz: Intensely aromatic (fruit, flowers, bit of cinnamon), palate of red & black fruit, esp. blackberries & rasberries, traces of chocolate/licorice. Medium weight; medium length finish of ripe tannins. No faults. Lots of grape skin sediment. Drinking better right now than the ’95 S-W (although the S-W has a wee bit more complexity), and should last 10+ years with no decline. It’s not a heavyweight & it won’t inspire great contemplation, but it’s an exuberant, young & solid VP. 90 pts / 100 .
$25 / bottle from Burkes in NJ (case discount of 10% available) found on Winesearcher. They package and ship properly. After I ordered a case, I had another couple bottles – same impression. Couldn’t believe it was so good & so inexpensive. I ended up buying 4 cases (@ $22.50 ea. with a case discount). Burkes only has 18 bottles left now, but it will be a nice little find for someone else looking for an inexpensive VP which drinks very well today.

I've been buying VP for over 20 years & I haven't yet touched the first 2 bottles I bought (Dow "83 & Graham '83). So, I can be patient. However, with the ever growing list of SQVP's being released practically every year, I see no harm in pulling the cork on youngsters from non-general declarations like '95 & 2001. This port and most '95's won't be better in 2020 than they are now. For me, finding a good deal on a '95 or '01 and drinking them whenever the mood strikes is better than drinking a simple ruby or even a first rate, traditional LBV. I won't feel quilty at all drinking these '95's sooner rather than later.

Welcome Bill. Nice to see you here (a most pleasant surprise)!
Welcome to the For The Love Of Port. I am out your way at Christmas and we really should get an offline together in MI (although I am typically in a slum called Jackson)
Great TN and it sounds like a very nice Port.

I had to do a double take as I wrote nearly the IDENTICAL line recently ... the ONLY exception was my 2nd bottles was 1977 Taylor). I too still own both of these initial purchases. I thought I was the only one crazy enough to hoard these, while drinking others of the same type.
I look forward to more of your pearls of wisdom!
