1971 Quinta do Noval Colheita Port

Post by Robert O. »

Rose in color. A LOT of heat on the nose. Tastes of caramel, anise, and clove. The finish is all chocolate. The heat is a bit distracting but overall a nice port.

On the 6th day, while still having a little more heat than is ideal, a nice nuttiness has developed. Very enjoyable.

Robert,

This is a colheita that I've always enjoyed and a look at my previous scores puts it about the same as yours.

Shhhh! I gifted one 2 years ago to Stewart as it is his birth year. I have enjoyed the '71 Noval's but prefer the 1974.

I opened this up about a week ago and it definetly showed the best right after being opened. The heat became alot more noticeable on day two and three, but it did not stop me from finishng it either :D
