Tasted at the Dow's Port Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia - Tawny nose. But a darker, more floral aspect than a tawny. Gutsy. Tannic. Hard wine.. 10+ year more is needed here. (91 pts.)

Had this recently when Alex B came out this way. I agree, its a solid wine and one that you rarely hear about in this vintage. It definitely needs more cellar time.

You can drink this now no problem. But I think it will be better in another 10 years. If you got more than one bottle, give it a try now. Its a good example of a VP that still has some youth to it, but is starting to give way to those older, secondary notes. Here is the link to Alex and my TN on it
