1994 Cockburn Vintage Port

Post by Richard Henderson »

I chose a young port this evening . Upon opening a beautiful aroma of sweet sugar cookie dough with a distinct pleasant nose of molasses, ripe blueberry jam. No heat even when opened and tasted. Nice balance big mouthfeel and long finish. I will give it several hours but this is a fine port now.

It gets better. . you'll see.

The '94 Cockburn is one of my favorites of the vintage.

Agreed, a hidden gem and one of the first solid ones (although some of their 1983s deliver too) every bit as good as the 1977.

Thanks for the note! It's good to hear that there is another great 1994 out there.

After 24 hours, it is so smooth. Strawberry rhubarb pie. Sugar cookie dough. If I had tasted it blind , I would have guessed it a Graham's.
Long great finish. What will this be like in 40-50 years?
