White Chicks
Porky's
Deuce Bigalow (only the first please)
Groundhog Day
Braindead
Mark, why feel guilty for watching Monty Python. They are classics, nobody did it better then these guys. Most titles are very high in the IMDB with average ratings of 8 and more. Life of Brian and The Holy Grail are in the top 250 of best all time movies

Re: Monty Python.
Yeah, rated high enough, but when you've had a few, and start up with the "Alms for a leper!" and "Knights who say N-eh!", and other silly quotes, you sound a bit...and some non-Pythons fans look at you...
Maybe it's a California thing. Haven't found many fans of British humor down here. Try explaining Mr. Bean. You get a lot of blank stares.

I'm a sucker for action movies. The Rambos, the Transporters, the Steven Segal movies, the Mission Impossibles, even Hitman. As long as the acting is tolerable (or in Segal's case, the "acting" has to be in quotes) I'll probably enjoy it.

I love Steven Segal. He breaks a guy's elbow in every single movie he has ever made, and to this date, is my favourite pain-inflicting move by an on-screen "martial artist." Just cuz.
Ok, and I put on Jerry Macguire now and again and cry at the "You had me at Porto" part. Oh wait, that's not how it goes, and no, I really didn't

Don't worry, Mark, we don't understand it in the UK either :?Mark DaSilva wrote: Try explaining Mr. Bean. You get a lot of blank stares.
I wouldn't think of Python as a "secret" pleasure, I think of them as classic comedy from a time and a place. To me, this thread seems to be trying to capture the movies that you once watched and enjoyed but wouldn't really want to admit to today, even though you'd watch them again if you got the chance.
My secrets would be:
- Grease
- Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (honest! )
- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
- Big
- The Warriors

Derek T...I had to laugh...The Warriors. I forgot that one. Loved it.
Years ago, a cheap Halloween costume would be The Baseball Fury from that movie. Slap some paint on your face, grab a uniform, and people would pass by going, "Warriors...come out to plaaay-ayyyy." Yeah, I did it. A few times.
Nowadays, it wouldn't work so well.

It's one of those right time, right place movies. Complete tripe but it just worked. I will never watch it again as it would kill the memory.

The Quiet Man
The Princess Bride
Big Trouble in Little China
Drunken Master
I think the air of unreality makes them enjoyable. There's no need for willing suspension of disbelief to keep watching.
