1967 Taylor Fladgate Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Port

Post by SEAN C. »

Unfortunately the '67 Taylor Vargellas had signs of seepage and was oxidized. The color was a pale golden orange that smelled like Madeira. The damaged liquid had a thin toffee and caramel taste and was very one dimensional. Not a good example of what should have been an excellent Port.

This reminds me of a book and a movie:

The book: A Tale of Two Cities

The movie: Some Like it Hot

I have had excellent bottles of this Port on several occasions and recently I have had a string of 3 in a row, where they showed extremely hot on the nose, mid-palate and finish.
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
