1982 Sandeman Vintage Port

Post by SEAN C. »

The 1982 Sandeman was light in the glass with a bright color similar to red grapes. On the nose there was tons of fruit which was also the primary taste on the palate. It had a heavy grape taste with a spicy and dry finish, later showing flavors of strawberry, black raspberry and sweet pink grapefruit. A hair better than the '82 Noval.

I bet very few people in the USA have tried this wine, since it is an "off vintage" and one that never got much attention here and little of this ever made it to the USA. Thanks for a unique perspective on a scarce bottling.

Roy, I think I have another one, so I'll save it for your next visit to Boston.
