The 1985 Ferreira had a medium ruby color in the glass. In the mouth there was an overwhelming taste of vanilla. This Port primarily tasted like caramel and cream soda with very little fruit evident. Overall it was a bit one dimensional in terms of taste and probably not a wine for extended aging, but still very drinkable and enjoyable now.
Fully mature 85 as the color and profile suggest. It was light tawny with an hint of ruby still remaining.
Good nose of tuffey and pure caramel butter which I really enjoyed. The palate is thin, some french vannilla is getting into the mix with similar flavours from the nose, acidic finish dominated with caramel and some alcohol. 15.5/20 Smooth and simple VP
