Welcome to the world of wine travel ... Portuguese style

I do not want this part of the Forum to turn into an "infomercial" so let me get that out of the way. The travel section (click on the link above) is currently offering a once-in-a-lifetime type of experience in late October. Fourteen participants will join Mario and me, on one of the most intensive weeks of exploring the wines of the Douro and Port, along with many Lodges in Gaia and Quintas in the Douro. Ooops, I almost forgot to mention the phenomenal food and hotel arrangements.

Ok, my sales pitch is over, so please don't blame me for just one self-serving paragraph!

This part of the site is for those that are going to, or have already been to the wine regions of the Douro and Madeira. So much to see and do and explore and learn.

I am considering putting up a place to hang photographs for folks who wouls like to add their beautiful shots from their trips. Hey, I am open to any and all suggestions, so please feel free to send 'em on! This Forum was put here so that I could get to know you folks better and also to have the opportunity to get the dialogue started between the people who enjoy coming to visit this website.

Thank you all!

Muito obrigado José.

I depart on Thursday of this week to Portugal and am excited to get back to the land of my roots.

So how was the trip?

Roy,

Will you be writing up details of how the visit went, or just the tasting notes? Am hoping you will do another one Feb/March time.

Hi Martin,

I am sorry for taking so long to reply. I was in Edmonton (in Canada) leading a vertical of Dow Vintage Ports and only had a few minutes to pop onto the site from up there. What a beautiful area.

Yes, I will definitely be doing an article on the most recent trip and will have our next one late in March. Dates and details will be up on the website soon. I hope you will come and join us! In fact, I will put up the dates for all trips through the first half of the year within a week.
