1963 Cockburn Vintage Port

Blind tasting at Roy's, 6 of 8

Medium raspberry red. Initially the nose was not giving much. A bit of swirling coaxed out a red fruit profile with some raspberry, cherry, and other complexities. The palate showed some heat with nice fruit and good acidity.

I clearly liked this more than some of the others in the group ... especially in direct comparison (blind) to the Fonseca '63 which did not provide me with as much pleasure as the Cockburn's until 2 days later.
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
