20 Year Old Tawny Port by Cockburn's

Post by Jay Hack »

I wouldn't want Roy to think I had forgotten about him, so here's a note from a random bottle of Tawny in Las Vegas. I am not sure, but I think this was at Boulud's at the Wynn Hotel. One of the other people at the table ordered a glass and then asked me to taste it because she knew I liked Port. It was very interesting and quite good. There was a strong roasted nuts component with just a bit of vanilla. In the background, there was a whisp of sharp citrus that might have been just acid, but it was well-balanced by the sweetness, which was a tiny bit more than I expected. The mouth feel was very smooth and perhaps a bit more viscous than average. I would gladly try this again.
Thanks Roy
