1977 Fonseca Vintage Port

Post by Marco D. »

[Taylor vs Fonseca @ The Warwick (NYC)]: Nice fruitcake, spice and hints of coffee. Plump and delish. I guessed Fonseca correctly. (94 points).

Although good, I was not so impressed by this bottle and although not really light in color, it did not show the deeply extracted colors of even just a few years ago. I have serious concerns about how this will continue to age over the next decade or two. Unlike the Taylor '77 which shows great concentration and youth at this point. Side by side, I have no question which is the better VP today and for the future. It was a beautiful baby though. [shrug.gif]
