10 Year Old White Tawny Port by Kopke

Post by Andy Velebil »

Bottled in 2009

The first commercial release of this White Port with an Indication of Age. A golden straw color with some very light tan in the center. An interesting nose of citrus and parafin. After some dried apricots and citrus fruits a bit of VA and heat start to dominate the palate. This doesn't have a lot of complexity and coupled with a short finish is a bit lack luster. It should be noted I tasted this over the course of a week, non-blind, and it was consistent during that time. This is the only bottle I've tasted of this so I don't know if it's representative or not. As usually Kopke produces better wood aged Ports.

We have fairly similar impressions of this one Andy.

I just found your note on it...guess mine was a representative bottle after all.
