Bottled in 2005. Upon first opening, this exhibited a soft, rounded, buttery texture that I often get from wood aged-ports that have been in bottle for a long time (although this was only bottled 5 years ago). Lots of buttered pecans, praline, honey, dried tropical fruits and caramel. This was nice, but better things were to come. On day two, this picked up more cut and tension. Much more harmonious with more nutty and brown spice flavors. The cornicopia of flavors clung to the palate with pit bull tenacity. Gorgeous length, complexity and balance. 94 points

Re: 1974 Quinat do Noval Colheita
Marco,
I love this bottle and luckily bought a good number of them a few years ago. IIRC this is one that is almost gone at the Quinta, so I'd stock up.
