2005 Niepoort LBV Port

Post by Espen S. »

Tasted 2010/3/27

I had no decanter available, but had a couple of glasses and left the bottle open overnight.

Earthy, caramel, cherry on the nose. Licourice, pepper, cherries, nice tannins... very nice finish. Feels very well structured to me. Great LBV, I like it. 92/100

Thanks for the good review of this. I've been quite happy with their LBV's in recent years so to read your positive note is most welcome. I've not seen it for sale in my area yet, but now I'll be sure to grab some when they do.

I'll get some more too. Some say it will age very well, I'll have to keep some bottles and see.

Thanks, Espen. I got a bottle of this a few weeks ago and have been very curious about it but haven't opened it up...yet. Now I'm looking forward to it even more.
