I had a very nice bottle of Quinta do Vale Meao this past weekend which was impressive.

I just received my 2007 Vesuvio and the wooden box is fantastic. The Symington's sure know how to package their premium Ports and DOC Douro wines!

For inexpensive - 2007 Quinta do Tedo Tinto
For mid-priced - 2007 Quinta do Crasto Reserva
For expensive - 2007 Quinta do Crasto "Vinha da Ponte"
I haven't had a lot of 2007 Douro wines yet.

about time Yes they do a great job when it comes to packaging. Oh, and a darn good job on the wine as well.Roy Hersh wrote:I just received my 2007 Vesuvio and the wooden box is fantastic. The Symington's sure know how to package their premium Ports and DOC Douro wines!

Absolutely. I just received my first Vesuvio OWC today, with 2003 VP. That is an impressively crafted case, with booklet strapped in and the ceramic thing (not sure where that fits in the case, or what I will do with it). Makes me want to buy more, which was probably what they were hoping for when they designed it.Roy Hersh wrote:I just received my 2007 Vesuvio and the wooden box is fantastic. Eric,
The VP footlockers that have been around for a long time, (I bought 1994s on release in the footlockers) are very different than the burled wood boxes the DOC wines come in, which are very classy.

Guess I'll have to look for the DOC boxes then too.
