Decanted for 24 hours; paid $22--tasted with my Port Club.
Have been chomping at the bit to open this--especially after Dirk's visit to the FTLOP Guest Forum. Traditional cork, so I fully decanted and then back in the bottle and let it sit open for 24 hours. Not a lot of nose, but what I got was pleasing offering dark fruits with whiffs of sweet floral. Very dark purple in glass with garnet meniscus. The flavors were of a blackberry jam with hints of plum & cherry and a tiny bit of eucalyptus. The finish was very nice for an LBV--this one zoomed right to the top of my favorite LBVs. The tannins, alcohol etc were well balanced. 93 points

Re: 2005 Niepoort LBV
It's great to see the 2005 finally arrive! I only see the 2004 in my area. Thanks for the TN. I'll keep my eye out for this one.

Re: 2005 Niepoort LBV
I loved the 2003 vintage of this and the 2004 was no slough either. I'll keep my eye out for this one as well, thanks!
