This is the second vintage of this wine produced for the US market. Made from Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca and partially aged (20%) in French oak barrels. I opened this last night and had a couple of glasses, yesterday it was a little on the tart side, but was already a fresher and more complex wine than the 2006 version. Today I am enjoying this wine a lot more as the fruit has gained some considerable weight, it's lost that little bit of tartness it had yesterday and now is exhibiting nice boysenberries, acidity, and minerality, with more tannins showing as well. This is a step up from the 2006 version and one that drinks nicely now, albeit give it a good decant first, and should hold nicely for a couple more years.
