Decant: None - Bottled 1999. Deep brown colour, slightly cloudy, slight green rim. Nose subdued, swirling and coaxing brings out the spirit in the wine and an odd smell of lube oil. Very thick into the mouth with soft flavours of flower water at first before the acidity comes through to take over. This fades and is replaced by the delicate sugar and bitter apple juice flavours. The aftertaste surges on brown sugars, fades and then reestablishes itself as a long but subdued burnt sugar residue. A very pleasant wine let down by the initial nose. 91 points
