Decant: 6 hours - Mid red-brown in colour, just transparent but very dark. Some development in the colour but not mature yet. Tobacco and spices on the nose with a caramel like you find in sweet roasted root vegetables. Smooth and elegant into the mouth, bringing sweet redcurrant flavours that grow considerably but stay in perfect and elegant balance. A faint hint of tannins show through in the mid-palate, but nothing more than to assist the acidity with the structure. A wonderful aftertaste with red licorice, a touch of rosemary right at the end of the very long elegance. Drinking very well indeed and will hold for a good few years yet. 6-6. 91 points
