tasted with Goncalo Devesas at the C. da Silva Port Bar in Vila Nova de Gaia
1967 Dalva Colheita Rui Paula
Color: Golden tawny brown
Nose: Pretty closed. Not much there beyond some floral alcohol.
Palate: Good acidity, lots of citrus, them mellows out a bit. Pleasantly complex.
Finish: Somewhat dry but in a good way. Good length.
Score: 93 points. This also might have scored higher if it hadn't been overshadowed by both the '52 Golden White and the '34 Colheita cask sample that it followed. Even so I had it right on the edge between excellent and outstanding.

Re: 1967 Dalva "Rui Paula" Colheita Port
As you know I am a big fan of this Port. Not sure the signed bottles are worth an extra 10 Euros vs. the normal 1967 bottling, but good on Rui for coming up with that blend. It is a great marketing collaboration for both entities.
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
