TN: 2007 Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa Douro

Post by Andy Velebil »

No formal tasting note, actually no real note of all to speak of....I took this to Arizona a this week and after a 8-10 hour decant shared this with a fellow FTLOP'r (Sean). While this is still a baby, it is drinking SO good at the moment too. Plenty going on, tar, spices, a bit of youthful oak still showing, long full finish, and it's got grip. The kind where it's hard to stop drinking it. Ok, I know some want a score so I'll settle on 95-96 points

While not cheap this is worth every penny....so go buy some if you can find it! :scholar:

Are you confusing the two types of old vine Crasto from their two different vineyards, Vinha da Ponte and Maria Teresa? I have never seen the words Vinha Maria Teresa on the label together. Is this something new?

Roy,
Your getting old and forgetful, it's been on the label since the first vintage in 1998 :scholar:

There you have it. I've never used the Vinha for MT in a TN either.

Don't feel bad, I don't think I have used it's actual complete name either. It seems to be that one word most people gloss right over.
