1904 Sandeman Vintage Port

Post by David Spriggs »

Tasted July 31st 2010 at the FTLOP 5th Year Anniversary
Christies label says - Believed Sandeman
Very light ruby color with a slight amber rim. Smells like Vintage Port. Still fruity. Nice! surprisingly full and suave. Spirity and hot in the finish. The finish drops off rapidly. Very interesting, but not appealing to drink a lot of. This fell off rapidly as the night went on. while it lasted - 90 points

Still, the experience was exceptional and the fact that it was ALIVE at over the century mark was impressive. It hung in there longer than some others of its ilk. How often do you get to try anything from that vintage?
