1900 Niepoort Colheita

Post by David Spriggs »

Tasted July 31st 2010 at the FTLOP 5th Year Anniversary
Bottled in 1972
Amber color - glowing yellow green rim. Looks like a Madeira. Big nose. This isn't Madeira at all. Wow! Super complex. Very fruity. Quite sweet. Medium bodied. This is very alive. Long, long finish with very solid acidity. Great balance. 97 points

97 points for Mr. Spriggs is quite a rarity in the Port realm. Agree this was an extraordinary bottle of Colheita, in a fine lineup too.
