NV Quevedo Special Reserve Tawny Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

After getting home late from work, and being a bit wound-up and not able to fall asleep, I figured what's better than just surfing the Forum....surfing the Forum while sipping on this Port  The baked rhubarb and cherry nose has more depth than many other Tawny's in this category. Medium bodied with an early sweetness that quickly gives way to a lighter sharp acidic streak. I like how this quickly sheds that sweetness, keeping it light on its feet. Some green peppers come late along with a little protruding heat, but in just enough quantities and at the right time to offset the acidity as it starts to become a bit much. I've been sipping on this slowly for the past few days and it's has held remarkably consistent in that time. A very nice Tawny Port that is an easy every-day type quaffer.

Yep, great QPR and a worthy sipper. I think we are about a point apart in our impressions. I enjoy having these types of bottles in the cellar that can be pulled when not looking for something that requires a ton of focus or serious evaluation. This is just a fun easy drinkin' bottle and you can't beat the price!
