Opened over Thanksgiving 2010 to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary.
1960 Croft Vintage Port
Cork soaked completely through and leaking very slowly (about 1 drip every 1-2 months).
Color: Ruby, with all that implies.
Nose: Light and elegant. Strawberries and very soft raspberries.
Palate: Secondary red fruits, some dates. Faint tannins, good acidity. Quite warm but not quite hot. Some sweet brown sugar. Faint coffee.
Finish: Good length, warmth, and fruits. Smooth, even finish that tapers off evenly. No apples on the tail - more like caramel and pears.
Score: 92 points. As with the Taylor, this improved with time in decanter and was still going strong after 2 days.
