From a batch of LBVs that I tasted over a couple of days in late 2010.
2000 Quinta do Crasto LBV
unfiltered, bottled 2006
Color: Deep red/burgundy. Opaque in the center.
Nose: A bit tanky and grapey. Dry dust. Some purple fruits, but mostly red leaning toward the tart side of things.
Palate: Tart and a bit sharp. Bright raspberries. Almost hot but not quite. Good tannins, decent acidity. A bit of faint coffee.
Finish: Tannins and some bite. Decent length. Again, almost hot but not quite.
Score: 89 points.
