1994 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port

Post by David Spriggs »

1994 Quinta do Vesuvio Porto Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto (2/20/2011)
What can I say - this wine rocks! Right out of the gate it draws you in. Luscious fruit, maybe a bit grainy initially, but after 30 minutes or so... wow! You just don't want to stop going back to it. I'm always amazed how great this wine is! Big fruit.... but balaced by superb acidity and just the right amount of tannic structure. Still quite young.... many many years to go for this wine. Me too. Two years ago I bought a number of bottles in the $60 range, and now the best I can find is $80. I haven't seen any at auction lately.

It would be a mistake for me to not drink them. According to CellarTracker I have more of this wine than any other in my cellar.... so to not drink them would be a mistake! :scholar:
Seriously, I bought so many because I wanted to open one bottle every month! [cheers.gif]
