2004 Quinta do Vale Meao Vintage port

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 8 hrs. Tasted it three times during the decanting period, and it improved 4 pts during the 8 hrs. Especially the last three hours were important in the development. Purchased only one bottle to check it out and I will definitely buy more, but need to go to Denmark!

Dark red colour with a tiny touch of purple. Powerful fresh and appealing fruit aroma incl. blackberries (or similar). Balanced, well structured, elegant, very rich taste. Nice tannins more evident towards the end. A “big” wine. Absolutely full body. Long finish. 94 pts.

I had this back in February at the source. Loved it yet again. It is showing so well today, yet has a LONG future of drinking pleasure ahead of it. It is not in the same league as the 2007, yet I think your score is right on the money. Great TN Rune. [cheers.gif]
