My wife participates in the ACPT every year, and conveniently there is a lively Port tasting group in New York City. So every year we plan a Port tasting to coincide with the tournament, and this was the 2011 edition.

1960 Dow Vintage Port

Color: Medium red with some orange and pink hints. One of the lighter Ports of the evening, but also the oldest.
Nose: Strawberries and some light alcohol. Soft sugar.
Palate: Smooth, a little bit hot, tart, and dry. Some sour cherry.
Finish: Heat. Good length, but not great. A bitter kick near the tail.

Score: 90 points. Others liked this far better than I did - for some it was in the top 3. For me it was in a 4-way tie for last. Still, an excellent Port.
